Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center (OPVMC) is seeking a Board Certified or Residency trained Internist!
OPVMC is a privately-owned hospital and a leader in Specialty, 24/7 Emergency and Wellness healthcare for pets. We enjoy a strong diverse caseload, are growing quickly, and are seeking the right individual to help contribute to the team environment and to expand the medicine we offer to the community.
OPVMC consists of three boarded internists, one boarded surgeon and two residency trained surgeons that limit their practice to surgery, a boarded medical oncologist, a behavior specialist, and eighteen emergency/general practice veterinarians. We have a telemedicine relationship with a boarded radiologist and a board-certified clinical pathologist. We also employ a full-time social worker onsite with an active internship program – SO HELPFUL!
In 2008 we relocated to a newly remodeled 22,000 sq. ft facility that includes endoscopy, cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, Storz endosurgical equipment, two GE Logiq S8 expert Vet ultrasounds, 64-slice Toshiba Aquilion CT, digital radiography with integrated radiography review, a complete onsite laboratory with digital slide scanning technology for same-day remote board certified clinical pathologist evaluations, and a blood bank. We enjoy a paper-light electronic medical records system that streamlines paperwork, improves record keeping, and facilitates client and referring veterinarian communication.

Client Services Representative:
FT/PT position for an outgoing, dynamic, and detail oriented person to provide excellent client service in a 24/7 veterinary hospital. Two years of customer service, or sales experience required, with 1-2 years of college in a related field, and/or a background in training/teaching a plus. Candidate must be a good communicator, have high computer proficiency, and the ability to multitask, all while working in a team setting. Position includes greeting clients, check-in, cash-out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and administrative work, all in a paperless environment. Weekend and/or evening shifts, as well as holidays, are required.

Minimum requirements for licensed positions:
Veterinarian:
The candidate must have a current New York State license or be license eligible, and have a minimum of two years experience. New graduates may apply and will be considered. The candidate must have a good understanding of the human animal bond and want to work in highly client/patient-focused multi-doctor environment. Our veterinarians are encouraged to increase their knowledge base by experience and continuing education. Doctors rounds are offered every weekday for case review. As leaders of the medical team, candidates must demonstrate strong leadership skills, superior medical knowledge and surgical skill. Candidates must show that they are flexible to change,are team oriented, and have good independent time management skills. We offer each a schedule with varied caseload consisting of community practice, referral crisis patients and emergency opportunities on a regular schedule.
Full-Time work schedules are generally 4-5 days per week. As a 24 hour/365 days a year facility, handling emergency and referral cases, it is very likely your work schedule will consist of some combination of days, evenings, and weekend, shifts. Emergency/overnight shift schedules are regularly offered.

OPVMC's busy surgery department has a strong, diverse caseload, and we're looking for someone to grow with. Currently along with our eighteen emergency/general practitioners and a surgery residency trained DVM; our boarded team consists of one surgeon, two internists, an oncologist, a behavior specialist, remote relationships with a radiologist and clinical pathologist.
